This release is a complete reintroduction of the QGIS Earth Engine plugin. Until now, using Earth Engine in QGIS meant accessing Earth Engine via the QGIS Python Console. With v0.0.8, that changes. You can now load, filter, and export Earth Engine data directly from the QGIS interface—no scripting required. ## Added **New Earth Engine Tools in the QGIS Processing Toolbox** The plugin now includes four core algorithms, fully integrated with the QGIS Processing Toolbox and Model Designer: **Add Layer** - **Add Feature Collection** – load vector data from Earth Engine - **Add Image** – add a single image - **Add Image Collection** – filter and composite collections (median, percentile, etc.) **Export** - **Export Image to GeoTIFF** – export Earth Engine imagery with control over projection, resolution, and extent These tools support spatial and temporal filtering, dynamic property selection, and chaining into repeatable geospatial workflows. ## Changed **Visualization Improvements** - Image tools now support native QGIS color ramps (discrete and gradient) - Easier palette selection with scrollable categorized UI and adjustable class count **Smarter Filtering Interfaces** - Dynamic filters driven by metadata from selected assets - Conditional form updates based on user choices (e.g., show percentile only when selected) ## Fixed - Improved plugin initialization and error handling for misconfigured cloud projects - The Identify tool now reliably returns pixel values from EE raster layers - Fixed extent handling in ImageCollection workflows - Resolved issues with excessive tile generation for Web Mercator projections --- This release is built for Earth Engine users who want QGIS-native workflows. You can now use Earth Engine where it matters most—alongside your existing geospatial stack. We’re excited to see how you’ll use it. Have you found a bug? Want a new feature?
