GeoBioTool(GBT) enables QGIS users to compute biodiversity and canopy structure metrics from classified rasters and ASCII point cloud data. It calculates Shannon–Wiener (Shannon, 1948) and Simpson (Simpson, 1949) indices from land cover classifications, Foliage Height Diversity (FHD) (MacArthur & MacArthur, 1961), Rumple Index (Parker et al., 2004), and Rugosity Index (Dustan et al., 2013) from point files. Suitable for biodiversity assessment, ecological monitoring, nature-positive planning, and vertical vegetation analysis.
GeoBioTool(GBT) is a biodiversity analysis plugin powered by Invalab. Vision: Adding Nature, Realizing Nature-Positive. Mission: Re-building nature capital from intangible value into investable asset. We're unlocking the hidden value 'X' from life of earth. Now with both diversity indices and FHD, Rumple, and Rugosity analysis.
